The Hanoi People’s Committee has recenty issued Document No. 1901/QD-UBND, approving project on supporting female start-ups for the period of 2018-2025.
The project aims to improve the women’s awareness of guidelines and legal policies of the State, the Government and Capital city on start-ups and economic development, thus realizing production and business ideas and contributing to reaching national target on enterprise development and National Target Program on gender equality.
It focuses on women, particularly the women who have idea and demand for start-ups, cooperative groups, connection groups, joint groups and newly founded enterprises owned by the women.
Priority is given to women in poor households, difficult circumstances and ethnic minority groups, women with disability, women in disadvantaged areas or areas with agricultural land change, and women who are vendors in the markets of Hanoi.
It is expected that in 2025, 90% officers of women’s associations at all levels will improve their knowledge and skills to help women in startup and economic development.
70% members of the women’s associations will improve their knowledge of startup and economic development. 30 cooperatives and joint groups managed by the women are supported. 20,000 start-up businesses and enterprises owned by the women will receive advice and support for further development. 1,500 women will be helped to start their business.
Communications activities, training and exchanges will be organized in an effort to improve knowledge and capacity of officers and members in the field of startup and economy.
Women will be encouraged and guided how to establish cooperative groups in different fields and groups of enterprises owned by women, share experiences and skills to manage and operate their business in order to create the link in production, consumption, connect units and support women in startup and economic development.
The city will help women to enhance their capacity in management and operation, and expand the chains in the field of production and consumption. Enterprise owned by women will receive support for trade promotion.
Female individuals and collectives with high-potential startup ideas will be recognized and recommended. They will receive advice as well as support for further participation in business incubator and startup programs, thus realizing their ideas and creating trade values.
Businesswomen will be encouraged to apply new technology for better production and business capacity. The city will supervise implementation of policy on supporting startup, give feedback, and suggest assistance for women to start their business and develop economy.
The municipal Department of Information and Communications in cooperation with Hanoi Women’s Association will provide information and guide city’s press and radio agencies, information system at grassroots level how to popularize the project and introduce startup activities of women in Hanoi. They will publish information of the project on the Hanoi People’s Committee’s website of startup.
According to their functions and missions, city’s authorities, departments and sectors are in charge of cooperating with each other to carry out the project, and integrate activities to support women in startup in their relevant programs and projects.
