West joined ANZ in 2015 as Head of Institutional FX Sales, Australia. Prior to ANZ, she held roles in the FX & Commodity sales team at both Citigroup and Barclays, and was also Head of Corporate & Institutional Market Sales at National Australia Bank.
West commences in the role on August 13, 2018, based in Ho Chi Minh City, ANZ Vietnam said, without giving further details.
“Vietnam is an important part of our regional network for our Institutional customers. Jodi [West] brings more than 20 years of banking experience to the role, and her strong leadership, customer network and product expertise will help build upon our well-established franchise in Vietnam,” said Farhan Faruqui.
ANZ is one of the first foreign banks to open, and has been in Vietnam since 1993. In 2008, ANZ was granted a banking license by the Vietnamese central bank to locally incorporate in Vietnam. ANZ Vietnam has presence in two major cities, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
In December 2017, ANZ decided to sell its retail business to South Korea’s Shinhan Vietnam, a subsidiary of Shinhan Financial Group. The sale was part of ANZ’s plan to dispose of the retail and asset management operations in five Asian markets to Singapore’s DBS.
