Vietnam's top priorities are to stabilize macro-economic conditions and improve its business environment, Phuc said in a meeting with leaders of some global companies at the World Economic Forum on ASEAN (WEF ASEAN) on September 12.

Additionally, the country will continue enhancing national competitiveness through economic restructuring and state sector reform, stated the PM.

The equitization and divestment process of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) are based on the principle of transparency and market mechanism, he added.

The PM requested global companies to support Vietnam creating breakthroughs in fields of technology, agriculture, health, and education.

At the meeting, leaders of the world's leading companies such as Apple, Google, Standard Chartered, Facebook, General Electrics, Bloomberg among others highly appreciated Vietnam's economic outlook and the government's efforts in ensuring a favorable and stable business environment, showing commitment to build long-term business partnership in Vietnam.

Judy Hsu, CEO of Standard Chartered in ASEAN and South Asia, said the bank has been in Vietnam for over 100 years, adding Vietnam is moving in the right direction in terms of creating favorable conditions for enterprises expanding their businesses in the country.

Meanwhile, Simon Milner, Facebook's vice president for Public Policy in Asia Pacific, praised Vietnam's effort in building e-government to meet requirements of the fourth industrial revolution. He stated that Facebook wants to cooperate with Vietnam in fields of digital economy, digital government, digital citizen and digital connection.

President and CEO of the General Electric (GE) Company Alex Dimitrief expressed his support for Vietnam's ongoing efforts in institutional improvement. Additionally, one of GE's focuses are energy projects in Vietnam, of which GE's plant in the northern city of Hai Phong remains the company's most successful project on the global scale, stated Dimitrief.

Yasuo Tanabe, senior vice president of Hitachi, considered the metro project in Ho Chi Minh City as a symbol of friendship between Japan and Vietnam, stressing the company's determination to complete the project as scheduled.

Representative from Thai Beverage, the group invested nearly US$5 billion in Saigon Beer Alcohol Beverage Corp (Sabeco), said its goal is to promote Sabeco brand name to the world.
