More than 40,000 low-cost air tickets to be offered at Hanoi tourism fair

The Hanoitimes - In order to achieve the global sustainable development goal 2030, green tourism has been chosen as the main topic at the 2019 Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM).
More than 40,000 low-cost air tickets for domestic and international destinations, and nearly 20,000 cheap tours will be on offer at the 2019 VITM, scheduled to take place from March 27 to 30 at the fair, said Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association Vu The Binh at a press conference on January 10.

In order to achieve the global sustainable development goal 2030, the organizing board has chosen green tourism as the main topic at the 2019 VITM, Binh said.
Attending the 2019 VITM, visitors will have a chance to participate in workshops and events related to green development of the Vietnamese tourism industry. In addition, experts will share their know-how in developing ecological tourism and protecting the environment.
Also during the 2019 VITM, the organizing board will host several shows and programs, including a tourism forum under the theme “Vietnam Tourism Outbound – Chance and Challenge”, “Job opportunities in Tourism Industry Forum and a press conference to introduce the 2019 Can Tho VITM.
The fair will include more than 500 booths showcasing tourism products, packages and destinations. It will bring together travel companies from 22 countries and territories, including South Korea, Japan, Taiwan (China), the Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Russia, Singapore, Laos, France, Germany, Australia, India, Sri Lanka, and Turkey.
The travel fair will include a series of activities, such as art programs, seminars and discussions on issues of the tourism sector with the participation of leading tourism brand names.
Businesses and tourism agencies across the country offer tour packages related to online travel and showcase information technology applications in tourism.
The VITM was launched for the first time in 2013 and then is considered as the biggest travel fair of the country. In 2018, VITM opened in Hanoi under the theme “Online travel – Vietnam Tourism looks towards the Fourth Industrial Revolution”. The event  attracted 670 travel businesses from 45 provinces and cities and 21 countries and territories, such as Russia, South Korea, Thailand and Japan.
