[Video]Hanoi beauty spots featured in saxophone legend Kenny G's music video

In his music video Going Home, saxophone legend Kenny G leads the audience to visit Hanoi beauty spots, including Hoan Kiem Lake, Temple of Literature, and Thang Long Imperial Citadel.

Hanoi appears with a peaceful, romantic, heroic, and ancient beauty in the background of the familiar song Going Home by saxophonist Kenny G.

Accordingly, the music video Going Home leads tourists to famous landmarks of Hanoi, such as Long Bien Bridge, Hoan Kiem Lake, Thang Long Imperial Citadel, and the Temple of Literature.

The music video was released in Hanoi as a special music product promoting Vietnamese tourism. It resulted from the cooperation between Nhan Dan Newspaper and IB Group.

According to Nhan Dan Newspaper editor-in-chief Le Quoc Minh, this is the first time this news agency has participated in promoting Vietnamese tourism with musical product instead of using journalistic products.

The idea of producing this video comes from the program Good Morning Vietnam organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper and IB Group Vietnam last year.

“Legendary saxophonist Kenny G highly appreciated the good meaning of the program. Therefore, he donated a saxophone to contribute to the charity fund. He also enthusiastically participated in a music video promoting Hanoi tourism - a product that we believe will attract more attention than traditional tourism promotional videos," Minh shared.

After the music night at the National Convention Center on the evening of November 14, 2023, artist Kenny G went to famous landmarks in Hanoi on November 15 to shoot the music video.

According to Minh, all filming and post-production have been completed a long time ago with high quality, but the copyright application process is quite detailed with many clues so it takes a lot of time.

"However, we are very happy that the product has been completed so that it can be widely announced, contributing to introducing Hanoi and Vietnam to the world," said Minh.

Speaking at the launch, Nguyen Thuy Duong, President of IB Group Vietnam and production director of the project, said that it took eight months to convince Kenny G to agree to cooperate in producing because this is the only music video of Going Home shot outdoors. Other Going Home videos were just shot when Kenny G’s performing on stage.

“The artist had very strict requirements regarding time, space, and technique at the filming location as well as post-production. Luckily, Kenny G was very excited to participate in this project. The final scene was completed when the Temple of Literature lit up. The artist even asked us if we wanted to record more. After receiving the demo, he was also very satisfied,” said Duong.

Kenny G also wrote a card to send a message to the Vietnamese audience: "Hanoi is an incredible city with so many wonderful people. Thank you for your warm welcome. Love, Kenny G."

The producers of the music video handed this musical product to Hanoi city leaders, hospitality corporations, airlines, television stations... to spread this special musical product, contributing to promoting Vietnamese culture and tourism to domestic and international tourists.

Receiving the gift, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh believed that anyone who is a Hanoian and loves Hanoi will be moved when watching Kenny G's music video Going Home. He thanked Nhan Dan Newspaper, Editor-in-chief Le Quoc Minh and his partners for their concern and fulfillment of the heartfelt gift.

"This is a great product to promote the image of the country, especially the image of Hanoi," said Thanh.
