Hanoi craft contest to fosters artisanal preservation

The awards ceremony for outstanding products will be held in the fourth quarter of this year.

The Hanoi Traditional Handicraft Product Competition in 2024 will be held in the third quarter to celebrate traditional craft products and contribute to preserving and developing traditional trades, according to the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

This activity provides a platform for artisans, encouraging them to brainstorm and create innovative and highly applicable works that meet national and international market demands.

The organizing committee will present 61 prominent awards in five categories, including bamboo, rattan, leaf and grass; lacquer, mother-of-pearl, shell and woodcraft; ceramics and glass; textiles and embroidery; and other (stone sculpture, metalwork, flowers, paintings). 

The awards ceremony for outstanding products will be held in the fourth quarter.

Any author or group of authors of traditional handicrafts may submit one or more products or a set of products to the competition. Participants are responsible for the intellectual property rights of the products submitted.

In last year's edition, the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development honored 56 selected products.
