Hanoi hosts AgroViet 2023 to promote agricultural products

AgroViet 2023 is expected to foster international cooperation, elevate the profile of Vietnamese products and brands, and create opportunities for enterprises to expand their presence in both domestic and export markets.

The 23rd Vietnam International Agricultural Fair (AgroViet 2023), taking place in Hanoi from September 14-17, offers numerous opportunities to promote agricultural products to domestic and export markets.

Hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), this annual event is a key gathering for Vietnam's agricultural sector, serving as a platform for both domestic and international agribusinesses to showcase their products, highlight technological innovations, and strengthen business ties.

With the theme "Connecting value chains, developing ecological and sustainable agriculture", Agroviet 2023 will enable enterprises to access and develop agricultural production 4.0 to add value to agricultural products, said Nguyen Minh Tien, Director of MARD's Agricultural Trade Promotion Center at the opening ceremony on September 14.

"For the first time in the history of the fair,  there is an area dedicated to promoting rural tourism and regional culture to foster multi-value agricultural economic development. Aiming to support enterprises and cooperatives to showcase their agricultural specialties, the organizing committee has set up a TikTok channel in line with the event's theme," Tien added.

He noted that the organizer will also hold livestream activities to promote and sell products. Technical mentoring will help businesses access and integrate into the 4.0 technology era.

Tien highlighted the evolving landscape of Vietnamese agriculture, focusing on multi-value integration, environmental sustainability, and cost-effective production while maintaining high-quality standards for consumer health.

In particular, this year's fair is also expected to further promote the linking of the value chain of Vietnamese agricultural products and imports from foreign organizations and enterprises of machinery and equipment for agricultural, forestry, and fishery production under Vietnam's requirements.

In addition, the event is expected to foster international cooperation, raise the profile of Vietnamese products and brands, and create opportunities for enterprises to expand their presence in domestic and export markets.

AgroViet 2023 houses nearly 200 booths showcasing high-quality products from localities in Vietnam and other countries such as China, South Korea, Australia, Russia, and ASEAN countries.

The fair displays a variety of domestic agricultural products such as ST25 rice, Thai Nguyen tea, Tam Dao yellow flower tea, Nha Trang bird's nest, Ba Lang fish sauce. In addition, it showcases many agricultural and food products from foreign enterprises such as Manuka honey, native flower honey from Australia; fresh flowers, vegetables and fruits from China; cheese, butter, and sunflower oil from Russia. The fair also displays South Korean sensor technology lines such as sugar meters, transmitters to promote mechanization in production and information on industrial ancillary products in agriculture.

A wide range of seminars, forums and conferences will also be held as part of AgroViet 2023. They will cover topics such as sustainable agriculture combined with rural tourism, the promotion of regional and specialty products on e-commerce platforms in 2023, and a business exchange conference between Vietnamese and foreign enterprises.
