Besides, Al Tech Matching activities, sponsored by the Aus4 innovation program in Vietnam and the Al Application Product Awards 2022 honoring Al's outstanding products and solutions in socio-economic life, will also be held within the framework of the event.
The Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) informed about Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Day at a press briefing on July 27, saying AI4VN 2022 will be held under the theme “AI to restore the economy, shape the future”.
Speaking at the event, Ly Hoang Tung, Deputy Chief of the Department of the High Technology under the Ministry of Science and Technology said after Vietnam issued the National Strategy on Al Research, Development and Application until 2030 in 2021, many promotion activities to realize the strategy have been carried out by the MoST in 2021 with the support of the Australia-Vietnam Innovation Partnership Program (Aus4Innovation).
“Up to now, the promotion and communication of AI have been enhanced, partly helping people understand what AI is and what contributions it makes in life,” he added.
According to the latest report on the Government AI Readiness Index conducted by the UK’s Oxford Insights in collaboration with the International Development Research Center of Canada (IDRC), Vietnam climbed 14 places to the 62nd in 2021.
The ministry will continue to implement the strategy by focusing on developing high-quality human resources in AI in Vietnam while continuing to build big data infrastructure under the direction of the ministry, Tung said.
Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Day is an annual event by the ministries of Science and Technology, Planning and Investment, Ho Chi Minh City’s People’s Committee and VnExpress, held for the first time in 2018.
