The seven-day trip to the US of Hanoi delegation generates numerous outcomes.
Hanoi delegation led by Vice Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee, Chairwoman of Hanoi People’s Council Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc on April 4 paid a working visit to San Francisco Mayor, accompanied by leaders from Vietnam Consulate General to San Francisco.
At the meeting, the two cities' officials briefed on social-economic performance; foreign ties achieved during the past time and discussed on stronger cooperation chances in the time ahead. Accordingly, San Francisco Mayor affirmed the city’s willingness to shake hands with Hanoi on areas of investment, IT, tourism, especially the possibility of launching a direct flight connecting Vietnam and San Francisco.
Ngoc thanked San Francisco municipal authority for their warm welcome as well as contribution to the positive outcomes of the trip. She also invited San Francisco officials and businesses to visit Hanoi in the future. The Mayor accepted the invitations and directed related units to carry out the trip promptly.
On April 5, the Hanoi delegation visited and worked with Mayor, agencies and businesses of Monterey Park city (California).
Monterey Park is one of the most livable cities in the US, briefed the city’s Mayor. It is equipped with diversified infrastructure like parks, schools, hospitals, stadiums, restaurant, shopping malls and other welfare constructions. Notably, Monterey Park implements numerous friendly policies to lure the investment from Asia, Europe along with open policies for immigrants, making it the most livable city of the US, added the Mayor.
During the meeting with Monterey Park officials, Hanoi delegates discussed about experience on planning, culture preserving, training on skills of rescue and firefighting etc... Both sides also talked about municipal council’s activities, how to simplify and turn administrative system into a friendly, effective one.
Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc showed her impression with Monterey Park’s achievement as well as gratitude to the reception offered by the Mayor and associates. Monterey Park Mayor is also in high hope of the upcoming visit to Hanoi to strengthen the cooperation.
