The city would give full support to German Embassy`s activities in the time ahead.
On August 9, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung met with Chargé d'affaires of the German Embassy Wolfgang Manig.
At the meeting, the German diplomat said Hanoi had proactively cooperated with German localities in recent time, proved by the successful trip of a Hanoi high-ranking delegation to Germany in June.
Wolfgang Manig also conveyed the Mayor of Leipzig's invitation to Chairman Chung to visit the city and attend the Leipzig Summit in 2019. The mayor also planned to visit Hanoi by this end of this year, said the German diplomat.
He also thanked Hanoi authorities’ effort to support German enterprises who are operating in the city.
The German chargé d'affaires hoped that Hanoi authorities would facilitate the German Festival, an event to promote German culture scheduled to take place this November.
For his part, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung pledged to actively assist to ensure the security, equipment as well as promoting the festival on media coverage.
Chairman Chung thanked the Leipzig Mayor for his invitation, saying he would consider and reply soon. Hanoi welcomes and awaits Leipzig Mayor’s visit, added Chung.
