In the first seven months of 2019, Hanoi welcomed 3.73 million international tourists, including 109,181 Australian visitors.
The Hanoi Department of Tourism has recently held a meeting between the city’s travel businesses with Australian travel tour operators to promote its tourism in the Australian market, local media reported.
This is a part of Australian Famtrip delegation’s working program to survey destinations, products and services in Hanoi city and Quang Ninh province.
Some 150 delegates from state management agencies, associations, professional organizations and travel service businesses nationwide attended the meeting.
This is also an opportunity for businesses of the two sides to meet, exchange and being consulted with delegates participating in the survey on the capital’s tourism.
The survey program for Australian travel enterprises is one of the activities to promote on-site tourism organized annually by the Hanoi Department of Tourism with a view to introducing to international travel agencies about new tourism products and services, which are typical of Vietnam’s capital and other localities.
The Hanoi Department of Tourism has been working as a bridge to connect domestic tourism enterprises with international travel ones, creating opportunities for businesses of both sides to meet and exchange experience. This helps international travel agencies have opportunities to experience the tourism products and services in Hanoi and localities as a basis to build tourism products in accordance with different tourism markets.
The organizing committee spent 90 minutes for the B2B program, through which Hanoi enterprises can directly exchange and sign cooperation agreements with Australian partners.
Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism Tran Duc Hai said that international tourists to Hanoi come from more than 190 countries and territories, growing approximately 19% per year in the period of 2015-2018.
Over the years, Australia has maintained its position as one of ten key tourist markets to Hanoi city. In 2018, international tourists to Hanoi reached over six million, with an increase of 21.3%. In the first seven months of 2019, Hanoi welcomed 3.73 million international tourists, including 109,181 Australian visitors, Hai added.
He expressed hope that tourism cooperation between Hanoi city and Australia’s cities will achieve higher results.
Hanoi is the tourism hub of the whole country, especially in the north, the city’s authority actively cooperates with other Vietnam’s provinces and cities to support tourism promotion in the localities, Hai stressed.
