In addition to being nurtured in a scientific way, children who drink milk are also educated about nutrition and a sense of hygiene and environmental protection.

However, there is still a low rate of participation in the project such as in Thuong Tin (49%) and Chuong My (59%) districts. Along with that, many schools raised their concerns about the transportation, milk storage and garbage collection when deploying the project.

The school milk project was approved on July 5 by the Vietnamese Children Council and has been implemented under the prime minister’s decision.

It targets improving the nutritional status of preschool and primary children by 2020 through the daily intake of milk.
