Vietnam, South Korea firms seek opportunities for technology cooperation
Vietnamese businesses have the opportunity to meet, exchange and update information on new technology products and seek business cooperation opportunities with representatives of the 11 leading South Korean enterprises.
A high technology application venture event was held in Ho Chi Minh City on August 22 to seek opportunities for cooperation and promotion of technology ventures between Vietnamese and Korean enterprises.
It was held by Vuccess Co., Ltd of South Korea, with support from the State Agency for Technology Innovation under the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, along with the Korea Institute of Science and Technology and Korea Techno-Ventures Foundation.
At the event, Vietnamese businesses had the opportunity to meet, exchange and update information on new technology products and seek cooperation opportunities with representatives of 11 leading South Korean enterprises in various fields, including information technology, communications, power-electronics, garment-textile, chemistry, construction, energy and environment.
Bui Hoang Yen, representative from Viettrade, said that since Vietnam and South Korea established diplomatic relations, the bilateral friendship has been thriving. In particular, the two governments are always interested in promoting multifaceted cooperation, especially in the economic field.
South Korea is currently the third largest trade partner of Vietnam, as well as the country’s leading foreign investor. Two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and South Korea has grown rapidly over the years, Yen stressed.
Chuan Kim, CEO of VRotein Company (based in Seungnam City, Gyunggi province, South Korea), which specializes in providing television service products, virtual reality games, said that VRotein desires to find partners to franchise products and services.
Besides, VRotein wants to collaborate with start-up businesses to find a profitable business model or collaborate with existing businesses that use emulated space technology (such as centers for online game development, karaoke, etc), Chuan Kim added.
Vrotein’s partners wish to promote the project and transfer technology in Vietnam including VNG Corporation, Total VR and Cybercore, he said.
