According to the report, the city had created jobs for 4,200 workers in the first month of 2025 using city funds disbursed through the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies.

The loans, totaling nearly VND219.7 billion (US$8.7 million), were provided to the poor and other policy beneficiaries in Hanoi.

The Hanoi Center for Employment Service contributed to the employment results in the first month of this year by organizing 20 job transaction sessions involving 498 units and enterprises with 1,053 recruitment requests.

Approximately 3,700 people found employment through job counseling and placement services, and another 36 received vocational training. In addition, the Unemployment Insurance Fund paid out a total of VND108.2 billion ($4.3 million) to nearly 3,800 workers.

Hanoi plans to create 169,000 jobs in 2025, according to a recent plan by the municipal People's Committee. The plan aims to reduce the city's jobless rate to below 3% and increase the proportion of trained workers to 75%.

To achieve these goals, Vu Quang Thanh, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Center for Employment Service, emphasized that they will hold more job fairs and find jobs abroad.

In the first quarter of 2025, 53 job fairs will be organized with VND978 billion ($38.4 million) from the city budget disbursed through the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies. The move aims to create 13,600 new jobs and facilitate the placement of 600 workers in overseas positions under labor contracts.

In the second quarter, the number of job fairs will increase to 67. The city will allocate VND1.3 trillion ($51.1 million) to create 18,800 new jobs and send 1,300 people abroad on labor contracts.

In the third quarter, 67 job fairs will be held, spending VND716 billion ($28.1 million) from the city budget. These efforts are expected to create 9,900 new jobs, while 1,400 workers will be sent to work abroad.

In the fourth quarter, the city will hold 68 job fairs with VND559 billion ($22 million) from the budget to create 8,300 new jobs. In addition, 1,300 people will be sent to work abroad under employment contracts.

The city created more than 225,000 jobs in 2024, which is 136.3% of the annual plan.
