Generals from the US Air Force will discuss opportunities for greater partnership throughout the Indo-Pacific.
Chief of Staff of the US Air Force Gen. David L. Goldfein and Pacific Air Forces Commander (PACAF) Gen. Charles Q. Brown Jr. will visit the Philippines, Vietnam, and Australia on August 16-22.
The visit aims to "discuss opportunities for greater partnership and cooperation throughout the Indo-Pacific,” according to US Asia Pacific Media Hub.
General Goldfein and General Brown will address the growing complexity of the Indo-Pacific operating environment brought on by the resurgence of great power competition.
Additionally, they will discuss the US Air Force’s role in promoting a free and open Indo-Pacific and the unwavering support and integration of international partnerships, to include the growth of Fifth Generation capability across the region.
They will also discuss other planned initiatives that demonstrate the Service’s enduring commitment to promote individual sovereignty and economic prosperity in this region of vital global importance.
This year, the Pacific Air Forces are celebrating the 75th anniversary of the creation of the Far East Air Forces, showcasing their enduring commitment to the region.
Throughout its history, PACAF has played a vital role in world events and participated in more than 275 humanitarian operations within the region and beyond.
