Solving gender imbalance together

Ministry of Health and United Nation Population Funds jointly held the program “ Solving gender imbalance together” at Hanoi Opera House.

At the ceremony, Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien affirmed that gender imbalance is a warning problem.

There are 113.8 boys born for every 100 girls at the present, which continues to increase throughout the country.
According to international experts, Vietnam will have an excess from 2.4 to 4.3 million of boys if we don’t take drastic measures to decrease the ratio of gender imbalance.
Minister of Health said that gender imbalance of our country derives from sex inequality, ideas of respecting man rather than women
Minister of Health and United Nation Population Fund wished agencies and the whole society made more great efforts to solve the problem
