Vietnam ready for the second Trump-Kim summit: Vice Minister

Vietnam official announced the news at a press conference on the second Trump-Kim summit in Hanoi yesterday.

Vietnamese Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung affirmed that the preparation for the summit basically completed despite a tight schedule.

"Until today, we had only 10 days (for preparation)," Trung said, adding Singapore had almost two months to prepare for the first Trump-Kim summit in June last year.
Trung stressed that the Vietnamese authorities and people will make utmost efforts to successfully host the summit.
"But it's up to the two leaders and the two countries to decide the content of their agreements," he pointed out.
He said Vietnam is honored to  host to the historic event and sees it as a chance to prove its policy of peace, of being an active and responsible member of the international community.
Besides, Vietnam also wants to show its achievements, including the comprehensive reforms of doi moi during the past decades as well as Vietnamese people and Hanoi – the millenary city. The summit takes place at the time the city celebrate 20th year of being recognized as the City for Peace by UNESCO.
Meanwhile, around 3,000 journalists from more than 200 agencies of nearly 40 countries and territories will cover the summit, according to the Ministry of Information and Communications.
