Hanoi Innovation Summit: new must-go global event for startup ecosystems
This is the unmissable event which rallies startups, entrepreneurs and leaders to celebrate the next generation of innovators.
The Hanoi Innovation Summit is the first edition of the newest unmissable international event in South East Asia, which enables investors and all stakeholders to innovate for inclusion and sustainability in Vietnam's fast-growing economy.
The event, which is taking place on August 29-30 at the National Convention Center in Hanoi, is held by France-based Schoolab – an innovation studio enabling startups, students and corporates to accelerate their businesses and transformations with dedicated programs and France-headquartered Startup Sesame – the global network of events in Europe, helping startups grow with conferences, education and networking.
The event will bring together major tech players from around the world with diverse expertise and experiences such as entrepreneurs, corporations, academics and investors together in order to (re)define innovation’s future and to accelerate growth, according to the organizers.
The Hanoi Innovation Summit (HIS) aims to connect leading global innovators and Vietnamese startups to accelerate the local startup ecosystems for the sustainable growth which the government of Vietnam has targeted to, Managing Director of Schoolab Vietnam Quentin Frécon told Hanoitimes.
Schoolab, with the role of transforming organizations through innovation and accelerate projects led by startups, public organizations and large companies, will build a long-lasting bridge between the investors and Vietnamese firms, he added.
Hundreds of startups, executives, investors, policy makers, students and academics will meet for 2 vibrant days of conferences with six large themes: Consumer Technology, Environment, Life Sciences, Smart Cities, Future of Work and Mobility & Logistics.
The event includes enlightening conversations from top speakers, inspiring exhibitors, and open innovation for startups and unparalleled networking experiences.
In addition, HIS has also attracted more than 200 international and local startups to enlist in the OI AWARD STARTUP COMPETITION – the competition addressing ultimate startup challenge. The winners will receive US$10,000 cash prize, AWS cloud credit, free working space, a one-week acceleration bootcamp in Vietnam, and eligibility to join international events from partner networks in Canada, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and India, according to Quentin Frécon.
The HIS is to become the new innovation reference of Vietnam as Hanoi attracts the best talents and pioneers from all around the world.
In 2018, Hanoi alone has drawn roughly US$7.5 billion worth of foreign direct investments (FDI) while more than US$890 million was invested in Vietnamese startups.
With a young and motivated population, Hanoi is the ideal city in Asia to promote inclusive and sustainable innovations in emerging economies. Hanoi Innovation Summit will rally startups, entrepreneurs and leaders to celebrate the next generation of innovators.
