Second makeshift hospital in Bac Giang ready to receive Covid-19 patients

This is the largest makeshift hospital in northern Vietnam to help shoulder the rising number of Covid-19 patients.

In the face of the serious evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic in the northern province of Bac Giang, the provincial sports arena has been repurposed into Covid-19 makeshift hospital since May 21 with 628 beds which, will be put into operation this week.

Leading experts from Bach Mai hospital, a top healthcare establishment in Hanoi, have been dispatched to the province to help local personnel with the setting and medical supervision in the makeshift hospital. Photo: Zing

Bac Giang has so far confirmed the highest number of infections with 1,520. The contiguous province is home to major foreign invested factories, including those of Samsung, Canon, and Foxconn. The province mapped out a scenario for the situation of 3,000 cases of infections, so the corresponding number of hospital beds has been prepared. Photo: Zing
