Nguyen Anh Duc scored the only goal from a pass made by Nguyen Quang Hai just six minutes after the game started at the My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi.

The visitors organized several attacks but the ratio of passes, attempts, and possessions was mostly made by the Golden Dragons (the Vietnamese team).

Harimau Malayas continued to pile pressure on the second half that made Vietnamese goalkeeper Dang Van Lam struggle to rescue the host.

The match ended with four yellow cards given to the Golden Dragons and five yellow cards for the visitors and a red card for Malaysian Sharul Saad.

The winner received the prize of US$300,000, the runner-up US$100,000, and the third teams got US$50,000 each.

At the tournament, Nguyen Quang Hai outscored with the “Best Player” title.

The Golden Dragons have won the trophy for the second time 10 years after the first cup. The victory has been predicted by regional sports commentators thanks to the team’s strengths that are formed by firm defense and counter attacks.
