Hanoi to launch sales promotion month in November to boost consumption

The one-month event aims to foster links among enterprises across all economic sectors, create value chains, and connect traditional trade and e-commerce ventures, towards meeting diverse consumer demands.

The Hanoi Sale Promotion Month 2019 is expected to be launched in the city in November, witht he participation of from 500 to 1,000 enterprises.

The sales promotion month aims to respond to the “Buy Vietnamese products” campaign in Hanoi, contribute to stabilizing the market, controling inflation, ensuring social security and socio-economic development in the city.

The one-month event aims to foster links among enterprises across all economic sectors, create value chains, and connect traditional trade and e-commerce ventures, towards meeting diverse consumer demands.

The program will encourage consumers to shop in both traditional modes and e-commerce; promotes e-commerce platforms and non-cash payment applications to diversify trade.

Hanoi promotion month has been implemented in the city for 10 years. 
Shopping malls, supermarkets, stores, tour operators, eateries, transport enterprises, telecom carriers and fintechs are expected to join the sales promotion month.

Last year, the Hanoi Promotion Month 2018 marked its 10th anniversary in November with the theme “Strengthening connectivity, promoting consumption” with discounts of up to 100%.


According to the Hanoi Department of Statistics, the capital's total goods retail sales and service revenues in 2018 rose 8.9% year-on-year to VND508,833 billion (US$21.88 billion).
