According to Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Lianys Torres Rivera, Cuba welcomed over 4.7 million international tourists in 2018, a record number in the history of Cuba tourism industry, representing a growth rate of 1.3% compared to 2017.
Currently, tourism is Cuba’s important foreign exchange earner, ranking second of the island’s economic sectors and contributing about 10% to its GDP.
In the Vietnamese’s mind, Cuba is not only a beautiful Caribbean island but also a nation which has maintained a time honored diplomatic relation with Vietnam.
However, few Vietnamese have visited Cuba due to geographical distance and high cost. Moreover, information of Cuban tourism is still scarce for Vietnamese people.
