Erected by the French colonial administration between 1901 and 1911, Hanoi's Opera House was modeled on the Palais Garnier in Paris and is one of the architectural landmarks of Hanoi, according to CNN’s article.

In 2017, Hanoi Opera House officially opens to tourists. A tour entiled “History, architecture and traditional arts” at the capital’s iconic work of the Hanoi Opera House. The tour includes two parts. The first one allows visitors to learn about the history of theatre’s construction and architectural style; access to the original design of the French architects; visit the main hall, the stairs, the auditorium, the seating; enjoy tea in the mirror room to learn about the vestige of the bullet in December 1946 under the French colony; and see documents and photos of major events having been taken place inside and outside the Hanoi Opera House. The other part includes “ Vietnamese soul” art performances, such as solo monochord, flute concerto, choreography, puppetry…
The move aims to make the Hanoi’s landmark to become an attractive sight, combining the House Opera visiting and art watching.
