Ho Chi Minh City hosts Southern Fruit Festival 2018

Ho Chi Minh City will host the 14th Southern Fruit Festival 2018 for introduce visitors to the unique features, and wide variety of fresh fruit grown in the Southern region.

This was announced by Truong Minh Hau, Vice Director of Tourism Promotion Agency under the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism at a press conference on May 24.

this year’s festival will feature many interesting programmes with activities such as a floating fruit market, 'Southern Delicious and Safe Fruit' competition, and a parade of “giant fruit' for a fashion show with fruit patterns, according to Truong Minh Hau.
In addition, the festival will be held to honour the outstanding individuals and organisations in the field of agriculture, he added.
The highlight of the event is the fruit at the floating market will be on sale for 20-30% less than market prices. In addition, from June 1 to 7, visitors staying at 4 or 5 star hotels in Ho Chi Minh City will have a chance to enjoy the programme “Vietnamese Fruit Experience” and “Vietnam Fruit Week”, and enjoy free a variety of fruit or juice free of charge.
The event is held annually by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism Joint Stock Company, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, and the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade.
The festival will be held at the Suoi Tien Culture and Tourism site in Ho Chi Minh City from June 1 to 17. On the occasion, children will receive free admission to the Suoi Tien Culture and Tourism site to participate in the Festival on International Children's Day (June 1), and excellent students with certificates of merit for the 2017 - 2018 school year will receive a discount of 50% on entrance tickets.
