The new procurement system, updated with new changes and designed to operate on multiple browsers, would help serve as a hub of information related to procurement, as well as a platform for the online bidding based on safety, competitiveness, fairness, and cost-efficiency.
To ensure the smooth operation of the e-GP, participants in the bidding are requested to switch to the new system from the old one.
The e-GP is developed under a project of applying e-commerce in public procurement under the public-private partnership (PPP).
The Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI), IT company FPT, and the Investment and Development of National e-Procurement System Company are responsible for running the new system.
The e-GP would allow effective and transparent management of the public procurement process, from announcing procurement plans, posting invitations for bids and contract award notices, issuing bidding documents to receipt of bids, and bid opening.
New updates in the new system would include a ranking of contractors, along with the disclosure of information from every bidding process.
Data from the e-GP would be integrated with that of the Vietnam State Treasury for information and cooperation in the disbursement process afterward.
Since July 1, the MPI has issued notice to bidders, contractors, and agencies asking them to switch to the new procurement system and the process is expected to be completed within one month.
